Day 32

Begining:
Ch 4. Join with sl st into ring.

Round 1:
8 sc into the ring

change yarn colour

Round 2:
Work 2 hdc into each st around (16 hdc)

change yarn colour

Round 3:
Work *1 hdc, 2 hdc into next st*. Continue from * around (24 hdc)

change yarn colour

Round 4:
Work petals *1 dc, Ch 4, work 2 tr cluster at the base of Ch 4, skip 2 sts*. Continue from * around

change yarn colour

Round 5:
Work corner *(3 tr cluster, Ch 4, 3 tr cluster Ch 4, 3 tr cluster, Ch 4) all at the top of the 1 dc from previous round, sc at the top of next dc from previous round*. Continue from * around.

Round 6: 
Work 2 sc at the top of each 3 tr cluster , work 4 sc into each Ch 4 space around and work 1 sc into each sc.

Round 7:
Work corner over 2 sc st at the top of the middle 3 tr cluster *(3 dc, Ch 2, jump over to next sc and work 3 dc), work 1 dc into next 7 sts across, 1 tr, work 2 tr cluster over 3 sts (skip 1 st between two tr sts), 1 tr, 7 dc*. Continue from * around

Round 8:
Work corner *(3 sc) into Ch 2 space, work 1 sc into each st across one side (22 sc sts across one side)*. Continue from * around

  1. These instructions just do not make sense! What does this mean>>Work *1 hdc, 2 hdc into next st*. Continue from * around<< You say we're to end up with 24 hdc but starting with 16 stitches, if we do the pattern from *to* we would end up with either 32 hdc around, that's just doing 2 hdc in each stitch, nothing about the 1 single hdc you say to do before them...if we add that single one (making it 3 hdc in each stitch we would end up with 41 hdc around...afterall, you do say to do 1 hdc & 2 hdc in each stitch around! This is a really pretty square but if I at 60 yrs of age & crocheting for over 45 yrs can't figure this out i'm sure a beginner couldn't wither.
